Prescott can help! • Residential or Commercial

We have installed Carrier, Payne, Day N Night, and Bryant products since 1979. Carrier has a product for every budget, with various efficiency levels, to provide a total comfort package. The total comfort package may include, not only the air conditioning & heating units or heat pump system, but air cleaners, humidifiers, ductwork, UV lights, and thermostats.

Air Conditioners
Furnaces (electric and natural gas)
Heat Pumps
Air Cleaners
UV lights

All air conditioning (a/c) systems have an energy efficiency rating called SEER. SEER is a measure of the total cooling of an AC unit during its normal annual usage period for cooling, divided by the total electric energy input.

SEER is like a miles per gallon rating for a/c equipment. A high SEER unit is more energy efficient than a low SEER unit (less energy is consumed providing the same amount of cooling.) For example, a 15 SEER unit is more energy efficient than a 13 SEER unit, but is less efficient when compared to an 18 SEER.

When purchasing a new a/c unit, the SEER rating is very important. When providing an estimate, we attempt to provide an estimate of two or three SEER ratings. The highest SEER rating currently on the market for a Carrier unit is around 21 SEER.

Whether you have electric heat, natural gas or propane, we can help YOU with a new furnace. If your furnace is more than 10 to 12 years old, it may be only 60% efficient. An old furnace can lose up to 40% of its heat before it even enters your home.

Carrier is the leading name in heating equipment. Carrier furnaces provide reliable, high-efficiency heating for long-lasting comfort and energy savings. Carrier's 80% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) furnace is the most used in our area. The NEW Carrier Infinity 96 gas furnace receives up to a 96.6% AFUE. However, with our low number of extremely cold days in this area, we feel the 80% furnace is more economical. It is a quality furnace at a fair cost.

HONEYWELL, We service and install Honeywell thermostats, as well as Carrier brands.

Today's economic situation calls for saving money whenever possible. One tip for saving $$dollars$$ with your a/c & heating system is to regulate your desired temperature settings during the times you are not home. With a programmable thermostat, the temperature can be set to automatically be higher when you leave in the morning in the cooling season; or automatically lower the temperature setting during the heating season.

New equipment is not just having a new heating/cooling appliance.  With a new installation a customer also wants reliability, honesty, availability, and integrity.  Prescott Air will give you that.  We have been providing installation over 30 years; we are available when you need us.

Numerous changes have occurred in the Air Conditioning industry through the years.  One of the best for the consumer is the higher SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) ratings and more efficient systems going into homes.  Unfortunately, this has also caused a jump in prices.

There are FOUR important considerations when choosing a new air conditioning/heating system:

EFFICIENCY: Higher efficiency systems require less energy, providing more savings.
SIZE: Too small equals too hot, uncomfortable and it will run all the time trying to keep up with demand Too large equals wasted money and humidity problems. An oversized system wastes energy.
STAGES: Available with either single or variable speed motors. Variable speeds provide a more efficient system, using less energy.
WHO: The most important day in the life of your AC system is the day it is installed. Choose a qualified installing contractor.

Carrier was one of the first to introduce the new, environmental refrigerant R410A known as "Puron" to Carrier. Prescott Air installed some of the first "Puron" systems in the Tarrant County area; our first "Puron" system was installed in 1998 in Arlington.

The pricing of the old refrigerant R-22 is skyrocketing. An update is needed nearly every week to find out how much it has increased. For that reason, if you've been adding 1-2 pounds of R-22 to your system every year, you may want to think about having a leak check and have the leak repaired, if possible. A leak will never disappear without repair; most of the time, the hole or crack only enlarges in size.

If your energy dollars are being lost in your attic with faulty or leaky ductwork, we can repair or replace. No job is too small; we are here to serve you. Most of our ductwork is run in R8 foil-covered flexible duct.

One of the things you can do for yourself is to make sure your air filters are changed regularly. Generally, once a month is the rule. There are other filters that will last longer. Each home is different because of the number of pets and how often the doors are opened.

DO YOU SNEEZE AND SNIFFLE WHEN YOU'RE AT HOME? You could be allergic to the indoor air. Winter isn't usually thought of an allergy season. But if you're allergic to dust, or more accurately the mold, pollen, and mites that linger in dust, winter can be the worst time of the year. The question is, are you having just another winter cold, or is it an allergy?

Carpet, furniture, pets, and even houseplants can harbor dust mites, dander and mold. You can keep Fido out of the bedroom and dust and vacuum until your house sparkles, but it's almost impossible to get rid of all of the airborne allergens in a home.

All homes have dust and dirt. Even though homes are being built tighter, this is still a problem. This can be caused by leaky windows, sheet rock, and the type of insulation used and just opening and closing your doors. Regular filters will remove the dirt and dust, but will not remove bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew from your home. An air purifier serves that purpose.

PRESCOTT has offered several different air cleaners in the past. However, in 2009 Carrier introduced the Infinity Air Purifier. This air purifier delivers industry leading, state-of-the-art technology that is so effective it delivers filtration efficiency equivalent to MERV 15 and germicidal technology powerful enough to capture and kill a wide variety of airborne pathogens including tuberculosis bacteria, measles virus, and spores. In fact, it's the same air purification technology used to protect some secure government facilities and hospitals.

The Infinity Air Purifier works on a three-step technology. It is a hybrid between an electronic air cleaner and media filter that offers the benefits of high voltage electrostatic precipitators and the ease of maintenance of a media filter. In addition, it is very effective at killing captured viruses, bacteria, and mold spores. This appliance is attached to a central a/c system. Installation cost varies, depending upon the size required.
